Seattle based local + destination wedding photographer by day, writer by night, I'm running on ahi tuna, love all things modern, chic, and fashionable, along with my much needed daily coffee...
When I am not being a photographer you can find me curled up on the couch in yoga or lounge pants under a blanket. I like a dog on either side, a pillow in my lap and just writing away at my book while taking sips of coffee as I go. I also love handwriting letters! I am over the top obsessed with owls, I adore peonies and sunflowers, and head over heels in love with my husband, David! We are a husband and wife team who recently moved from Texas and are now based out of Seattle, Washington! In our free time we go for long walks in the city with our dogs, enjoy watching the occasional movie, and our guilty pleasure is food network/ travel channel and Gordon Ramsey.
Seattle Photographer & Writer
There are many things that I love about my job, capturing memories, creating stunning albums and galleries, my favorite part though is meeting new people and working with them daily. I have met some truly amazing people, and without them and their unconditional love and support I wouldn't be able to do what I do. I work closely with my clients, and truly strive to create long lasting friendships beyond the wedding day. Everyone has a different story and I love to hear about them all!
During and after college I worked with a few different photographers. While each photographer was wonderful in their own way, and very creative, there were just some parts of their business I wish I could change. Let me explain... I'm not downing anyone. Each person had a certain trait to their business that always stood out to me in a positive way, but I never found that one person who just provided the all around excellent client experience from start to finish. The stories I would hear from clients and the things I witnessed while working with these other photographers would sadden me. Everything from miscommunications to the lack of client education... It made my heart ache.
God is my number one inspiration and I keep him close to me at all times. He leads the way in my life as well as my business and gives me the direction I need. Outside of our Christian faith I find inspiration in many different places. I also have a few amazing people that I follow. I absolutely love Julianne Hough, Hope Taylor, Katelyn James, Natalie Franke, and many other great entrepreneurs! And lets not forget music. While I am writing I will usually throw on some headphones to drown the world out and get lost in the words. Flowers also inspire me and just lift me up in general. Who can say no to flowers? Now, I will say until recently sunflowers have been my absolute favorite flower, but I have a new obsession with the beautiful puffy peonies! The list goes on... Honestly I try to look at things outside of my industry for that much needed kick in the brain. The inspiration outlets grow everyday!
Maybe it's just me. Maybe the work ethic I was raised around doesn't let me see passed it. I mean, something so important should be handled thoroughly with the love and guidance it deserves, right? So after my experiences I vowed to create relationships, not just a portfolio. I love my bride and grooms and I want them to know it too!
"Two Souls With But A Single Thought, Two Hearts That Beat As One!"
I start every day with a cup of coffee and not for the reason you probably think! I love the way it tastes! I usually use Bailey's creamer, Or maybe even amaretto. Mmm... This is the perfect and only way to get my day started off right!
I am completely and utterly obsessed with owls! I have a little puffy owl that I switch between my purse and camera bag. I never go anywhere with out him. I decorate with owls, and have to have one in every room!
This is an absolute must! I usually have several pens and note books on my desk, in my purse, and stashed around the house. I remember things better when I write them down verse typing them in my phone.
If I could live off soft baked pretzels I totally would! I love to eat them with honey mustard or my personal favorite... nacho cheese! I almost always have one at the movies!
Gotta gave flowers... I love having them around the house, specifically on or near my desk! I have a couple of absolute favorites- Sunflowers brighten any room & there is just something so elegant about the puffy pink and white Peonies that just makes me smile!
Guys, I could eat this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! I make it all sorts of ways, including but not limited to, putting vegetables & crab in it! I love making it from scratch but when I don't feel like it we love cracker barrel's.
Nothing like a home full of warm fall scents! I always have a candle burning somewhere in the house, usually in more than one room. My favorite are the bath and body works candles. I usually have several of anything on the pumpkin scent line .
Yep! An essential and an obsession! Pumpkin spiced lattes, pumpkin cupcake candles, pumpkin banana bread, even pumpkin pancakes! Everything pumpkin flavored!!
Yup! I am totally an organize freak! I have several planners, with at least one on my desk! They all say the same thing, and I update them on a regular basis. Plus I love all the different planners that come out each year!
I love to write! I hand write everything! Im actually in the process of writing my first book of five! I hand write it in a leather bound book, that I carry with me every where. I know it maybe silly, but when reading my story, it makes me giggle!
I am the most productive when I have music to listen to. It helps me focus by drowning out the distractions around me. I love all sorts of music, but I prefer music with no words when I need to get a lot of stuff done in a short amount of time.
I love to curl up on the couch with my husband and pups to read a good book. I prefer to read adult romantic books, but I love dark romantic books in general. I usually lean more towards angels, demons, witches, warlock, type story lines. I believe books should be a way to escape!
Fall & Winter are my favorite seasons! I love to see the leaves change colors, and the summer wind turn cold. Best of all... I get to wear soft comfy sweaters and lots of knee high boots! I wish it was this way year round!
I love working out! This is part of my morning and daily routine! Without my daily workout I feel off! Usually I prefer yoga, barre, and running, but I love lifting weights with David!
